MakeMeTravel is a just-for-fun website used to track the journey of our fluffy travellers (soft toys).
The concept
Three soft toys: Ralf (elephant), Pino (bear) and Manu (shark) called fluffy travellers are sent out into the world with a mission: they need to travel as much as possible and bring us back pictures from their trips. A fluffy traveller is given to a friend with the following instructions: - make it travel - take a picture with it - upload it to this website - then give it again to another friend. This way, we expect our soft toys to travel all around the world and along make new friends.

The History
Everything started in 2007 when a group of coworkers started collecting coins left in the office coffee machine into a common chest. In early 2008 the amount in the chest was getting quite important (> £10!) so something had to be done with this treasure. A few ideas were thrown about, but none seemed satisfactory enough. In May 2008, The Idea came to Antoine: "why don't we buy soft toys with it, and make them travel all around the world!". Each of us bought his soft toy with a limited budget and we started to work on the website. After a 2 year break we have resumed work on the website and it's officially been launched on the 1st of November 2010. |
